Do I have to register my security cameras?

Yes. In Belgium every surveillance camera is registered with the police via the online e-loket (aangiftecamera.be) before use, and a pictogram is displayed at every entrance to the filmed area. You file the registration as owner; we explain what to do at hand-over and supply the pictogram.

Do I pay a monthly fee per camera?

No. UniFi Protect stores footage locally on your own recorder, with no per-camera cloud subscription. You pay for the hardware and the installation; after that nothing is mandatory. A Care plan for monitoring and support is optional.

How long is footage kept?

No longer than the law allows: one month as a rule, longer only when footage is needed as evidence. We set the retention period with you, document it and size the storage to match.

Can I add or revoke badges and codes without calling you?

Yes. With UniFi Access you manage users, badges, PIN codes and time schedules yourself, from the same controller as your network. We show you how at hand-over and put it in the documentation.

Can I keep my existing cameras?

Sometimes. Good IP cameras that support the ONVIF standard can often be integrated; older analogue systems cannot. We assess this during the site survey and tell you honestly what is worth keeping.

Cameras & access control

Hanging cameras is not hard. Hanging cameras that film the right things, keep the footage with you and respect the law is a design question. That is where we start, with a floor plan and a conversation about what you want to see and what you deliberately do not.

We build on UniFi Protect and UniFi Access: cameras, recorder, door readers and user management in the same controller as your network, with no per-camera subscription. Footage stays local. Badges and codes are managed by you. Cameras need a good network and PoE cabling, so the site survey checks whether that is in place; cabling is done together with our partner electrician.

At hand-over you get more than working cameras: a coverage plan, a configured and documented retention period, the pictograms for your entrances and guidance through the registration. The obligations remain yours; we make sure they are achievable.
